UFOs, Lets take a closer look.

I suppose just about everyone has seen the classic Steven Spielberg movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind. But do you know what having a close encounters of the third kind means?

Basically there are many types of UFO encounters from a simple sighting to alien abduction and often the type of encounter is classified as follows:

Sighting – A sighting is just that, it simply means that someone sees something in the sky that he is unable to identify.

Close Encounter of the First Kind – This term is used to describe a sighting at somewhat closer range, the object may even be heard, but there is no physical or trace evidence left behind.

Close Encounter of the Second Kind – This term is used to describe a sighting that features all of the above except that there is some sort of lingering physical evidence. In some cases the evidence may be a stalled engine, a strange burn on the body, a burn or scorch mark on the ground or snapped tree limbs.

Close Encounter of the Third Kind – In this encounter there is actual contact between the aliens and humans. The contact can range from just seeing the beings outside of a downed craft or maybe even telepathic communication.

Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind – In this type of encounter someone is taken, often by force, they are often examined and often have no memory of the abduction.

So now that we have that info out of the way, when was the first UFO sighting?

The truth is that no one knows but there are some very old sighting reports that still exist:

From the Bible we have, Ezekiel 1:4-9 (New International Version)

4 I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north—an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal,

5 and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was that of a man,

6 but each of them had four faces and four wings.

7 Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze.

8 Under their wings on their four sides they had the hands of a man. All four of them had faces and wings,

9 and their wings touched one another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved.

From Egypt we have:
In 1479 B.C. The scribes of the House of Life wrote: “…it was seen, a multitude of circles of fire that coming in the sky. Tough they had no head, the breath of their mouths had a foul odor…they made no sound at all…they were shining in the sun more than the sun.

From China:
The year was about 1060, an object “…like unto a great pearl rose from the lakes and swamps of the area.” These sightings continued for several weeks. One Chinese observer wrote that “as the Sky Pearl sat motionless over the body of the lake, an opening like a door appeared and a bright light shone from within, shortly the door disappeared and the
Pearl rose into the sky until it was not but like a star.”

From Christopher Columbus:
In 1492 while on his way to discover the New World Columbus and his men spotted lights flying in the sky and under the water often passing right under their ships. Columbus dutifully noted the strange encounters in his log.

Here is the deal, strange mysterious things have always been seen in our skies, are they ETs, Ghosts, Demons or something else? For now I have to say I don't know. But who knows what may turn up in the future to alter my opinion, that’s why I invite you to keep an open mind and keep walking in this big weird world of ours!
